Founded in 1916, the Women’s Texas Golf Association (WTGA) is the USGA representative organization for women in Texas and is known throughout the state as an Association built on integrity and dedicated to high standards. The foundation of the organization is both charitable and educational in nature and operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. As we approach our centennial celebration, we enjoy a diverse membership of over 400 golf clubs representing in excess of 65,000 individual members. The WTGA encourages and promotes women’s golf in Texas through many services such as, but not limited to college scholarships, educational seminars, junior golf and grades initiatives, and hosting 8 premier amateur tournaments, including the prestigious Senior Stroke Play and State Amateur Championships. Past State Amateur champions include LPGA Hall of Fame members, such as "Babe” Didrikson Zaharias, Betsy Rawls, Sandra Haney, Sandra Palmer, and Betty Jameson to name a few. In 2007, our youngest contestant was 14 with the oldest being well beyond 70. We are proud to serve such a strong and diverse membership and look forward to continued growth.  Over the years the WTGA has built and maintained strong working relationships with the USGA, the PGA of America, the Texas Golf Association, Legends Junior Tour and other state, regional and local golf associations to promote the game of golf. As the game has grown in popularity, so has the WTGA. We stand as the governing body for women's amateur golf in the state, looked upon to provide the leadership necessary to uphold the traditions and values of the game and to ensure its future growth.  The 2021 WTGA competitions schedule is available by clicking the link above and is listed above:
